	From the Editor. Beginning the new year with a new took isn't that difficult, as long as you follow the basics of makeup application. In the following pictorial, Joe Blasco offers his best tips to achieve flawless makeup applications for the client who wants a new face for the new year.

This model shows a raised and discolored port-wine skin disorder. An olive-beige foundation, a light concealer, and a red neutralizer were used to correct the problem. The products had a high concentration of pigment and were applied very thinly to achieve a natural look.
