The
Joe Blasco Make-up Center maintains the following refund policy
in accordance with Section 94312(d) of the Private Post Secondary
and Vocational Education Reform Act of 1989, State of California.
The
Policy provides for the refund of the unused portion of tuition
fees and other charges in the event the student does not register
for the period of attendance or withdraws therefrom at any time
prior to completion of the course, or otherwise fails to complete
the period of enrollment. The institutional refund policy for students
who have completed 60 percent or less of the course of instruction
shall be a pro rata fund. Except for the $100.00 registration fee,
the refund shall be the amount the student has paid for the instruction
multiplied by a fraction, the numerator of which is the number of
hours of instruction which the student has not received but for
which the student has paid, and the denominator of which is the
total number of hours of instruction for which the student has paid.
The
Joe Blasco Make-up Center shall, for all students, without penalty
or obligation, refund 100 percent of the amount paid for institutional
charges, less a $100.00 registration fee, if notice of cancellation
is made prior to or on the first day of instruction. Any notification
of withdrawal or request for refund must be made in writing. Notifications
shall be sent to Brian D. Brown, Enrollment Director, Joe Blasco
Make-up Center, 1670 Hillhurst Avenue, Los Angeles, California 90027.
After
the first day of class, but prior to the issuance of materials,
the student shall also be issued a refund for any and all fees paid
for materials. No refund will be made for fees paid for materials
after their issuance. Due to clearly recognized health and sanitary
reasons, the cosmetics and tools cannot be returned after receipt
by the student.
The
Joe Blasco Make-up Center shall pay or credit refunds due in a timely
manner not to exceed thirty (30) days following the date upon which
the students withdrawal has been determined.
Hypothetical
Refund Example:
Assume
that a student, upon enrollment in a 300-hour course, pays $4,700.00
for tuition, $100.00 for registration, and $1,000.00 for supplies
and withdraws after completing 100 hours without returning the supplies
he/she has obtained. The pro rata refund would be $3,133.33.
