JOE BLASCO Make-up Schools
LEADING THE FINE ART OF MAKE-UP INTO THE NEXT MILLENNIUM™
Entrance Requirements and Enrollment
Prospective students of all courses must be at least eighteen years of age or have proof of a high school diploma or equivalent. Prospective students of the Professional Make-up Artistry Course and Beauty Make-up Artistry Course need not have previous experience. A strong desire to become a Make-up artist is needed and the prospective student will be interviewed to assess their initial practical, pre-instruction ability to understand and apply the use of specific cosmetic products and tools which are typically used by a professional Make-up artist during the course of his or her future professional daily work requirement. The Joe Blasco Make-up Centers West and East are private schools and as such, reserve the right to be selective in choosing students for enrollment. Because of the demanding and sophisticated nature of the work which is required of students enrolled at the Joe Blasco Make-up Centers, Mr. Blasco insists that only students who show potential and developing Make-up ability be considered for enrollment.

Joe Blasco, and the staff of the Joe Blasco Make-up Centers are proud of our Academy and Emmy Award winning graduates, and in an attempt to promote continued excellence, all students will be monitored to determine the degree of their developing talent and ability during the entire duration of the professional program. Students who show an increasing lack of ability and talent and/or a lack of serious, continued desire will be removed from the program and refunded their tuition according to the California Fair Refund Policies and the Florida State Fair Refund Policies.

Upon successful graduation, students are counseled concerning professional career pursuit and development. Students are encouraged to continuously communicate with the school for further support and assistance with career management.

Because the Joe Blasco Make-up Centers are owned by a known, experienced professional Make-up artist, Joe Blasco, concern is shown and effort is given to help the student to understand the seriousness of the course of study which they are about to undertake, and to appreciate the benefits which may become available to them upon successful completion of the course of study and their entry into the real world of working as a professional Make-up artist in today’s demanding entertainment industries.

When taken individually, the Old Age, Bald Cap, Hair Work, Character, Monster, and Prosthetics Make-up Artistry Courses are offered as “brush up” courses to currently working Make-up artists.

Prospective students of the Advanced Prosthetics Course must be graduates of the Professional Make-up Artistry Course or equivalent or demonstrate that they have competence in all areas taught in the Professional Make-up Artistry Course. Enrollment should be completed no less than two weeks prior to the beginning of the class. In order to secure a position in any course, a $100.00 registration fee is required at the time of enrollment. Tuition for the day or evening Professional Make-up Artistry Course may be paid in full one week prior to the first day of class or in two payments. The first payment must be made no later than one week prior to the first day of class. The second payment must be made no later than the first day of the fifth week of class. Tuition for courses is expected one week prior to class start date. The Joe Blasco Make-up Centers West and East do not accept government sponsored grants or loans to pay for portions of tuition and material fees. Veterans Training Benefits, rehabilitation and JTPA programs are accepted.

No credit will be awarded for advanced standing or previous experience.
