In order to graduate, a student must complete all course hours, assignments,
critiques, and receive a score of 70% or above on all written tests.
Should a
student fail any tests or fail to complete all course requirements
and assignments, the student will have not more than 1 and 1/2 times their hours from
their antcipated graduation date of their class to retake any failed tests or submit
any missed assignments. The school maintains all student academic
records in the school administration office. Academic records will
be furnished to students and graduates during normal business hours.

The Center expects students to complete all program requirements established in the syllabus. A grade of WP is assigned when the student voluntarily withdraws in writing from a program and the instructor determines that the student’s work is satisfactory at the time of withdrawal. The WP grade is not included in the calculation of the GPA. A grade of WF is assigned when the student voluntarily withdraws from a program and the instructor determines that the student’s work is unsatisfactory at the time of withdrawal. A WF grade has the same academic effect as an F grade when computing the GPA. Certain programs are available as Pass/Fail. The P grade is not included in the calculation of the GPA.
Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy
All students must meet minimum standards of academic achievement and program completion while enrolled at Joe Blasco Make-up Artist Training Center. This policy applies to all students. The student’s progress will be evaluated at certain points to determine satisfactory academic progress. Students who meet the minimum requirements for attendance and academic progress shall be considered to making satisfactory progress until the next scheduled evaluation. Students enrolled in the Professional Makeup Artistry program and the Professional Master Makeup Artistry I program will receive an evaluation at their 5th week. Students in the Professional Master Makeup Artistry II program will receive an evaluation after the 8th, 16th, and 24th week of the program.
Maximum Time Frame
Students enrolled at the Joe Blasco Make-up Artist Training Center must complete their studies within certain time limits to be eligible for a diploma. The maximum time frame (MTF) to complete each diploma program is defined in terms of attempted clock hours. A student may attempt up to 1.5 times the number of clock hours for normal completion of the program of study. Students must also complete 67% of the clock hours scheduled for each evaluation period.
The equation for calculating the MTF is:
MTF = # clock hours in program x 1.5
Evaluation Points
Again, students enrolled at the Joe Blasco Make-up Artist Training Center must complete their studies within certain time limits to be eligible for a diploma. The following table is broken into two columns and groups of three. The three items in each group on the left column correlate with three benchmarks in the course. The three in the group on the right relate to the minimum hours required as they relate to the group of three on the left. Each student will be evaluated at certain points in the academic program as follows based upon the maximum time frame for completing the program:
The equation for calculating the MTF is:
MTF = # clock hours in program x 1.5
