JOE BLASCO Make-up Schools
LEADING THE FINE ART OF MAKE-UP INTO THE NEXT MILLENNIUM™
Hygiene and Dress Code
Throughout all phases of each course taught at the Joe Blasco Make-up Centers West and East, very strict rules governing aseptic and hygienic techniques are stressed; for example, the proper sterilization of brushes, combs, tweezers, eyelash curlers and all other implements used during Make-up application procedures. Students are taught to use a stainless steel or plastic make-up palette and a sterile spatula to facilitate the removal of Make-up products from their containers prior to their application on the subject’s skin. Students are taught not to contaminate Make-up containers with brushes and/or sponges that have already come in contact with the subject’s skin.

Students are required to thoroughly wash their hands prior to each make-up application. Hygiene inspection is performed periodically to assure that each student is aware of and is maintaining proper personal hygiene and grooming, which is conducive to good health and professional requirements.

To promote professionalism, as well as to protect clothing, all students are required to wear a professional white smock (supplied in the make-up kit) during make-up application sessions in the formal class and workshop at the Joe Blasco Make-up Centers. The smock is to be maintained by the student and to be kept clean at all times.

Joe Blasco Cosmetics are used almost exclusively throughout the course because of their high quality and guaranteed non-allergenic characteristics.
