LEADING THE FINE ART OF MAKE-UP INTO THE NEXT MILLENNIUM™
Leaves and Absences

Students are permitted absences only with a legitimate reason (i.e. illness). The student must arrange personally with the instructor to make up work missed due to absence. Repeated un-excused absences from class (three or more) and repeated tardiness (five or more) may result in a two-week probation. Failure to improve may result in dismissal from class. A dismissed student will be refunded their tuition as outlined in the, "Refund Policy."

Should students find it necessary, during their studies, to take a leave of absence, the leave must be for a legitimate reason and be granted by the school administration. Students who do take a leave must return to The Joe Blasco Make-up Center within one year to complete their course.

A student may be placed on probation for a period of two (2) weeks if the faculty determines that the student is unable to meet the course requirements. If the student is unable to meet the course requirements during the two-week probation period, the student will be dismissed from class and refunded the tuition as outlined in the, “Refund Policy.” In order to return to class, the student must demonstrate to the school faculty that he/she is able to perform the work at the same level at the time of his/her dismissal. From the time of dismissal, the student will have a period of not more that twelve (12) months to demonstrate his/her ability to do the course work.

To be eligible for graduation a student must complete all course hours. Students who fail to complete all course hours will have twelve (12) months to complete the missed hours.

At the discretion of the administration, a student may be dismissed for serious incidence or repeated incidence of any intoxicated or drugged state of behavior, possession of drugs or alcohol on school premises, possession of weapons on school premises, behavior creating a safety hazard to other persons at the school, disobedient or disrespectful behavior to a student, administrator or faculty member and/or for any stated or determined infraction of conduct. Students that are dismissed for the above reasons will be refunded their tuition as outlined in the, “Refund Policy.” They will, however, not be allowed to return to class.
