Hello Mr. Blasco!
I
am writing you to see how you are doing and also to tell you a little
bit about what I have been doing the last 8 months. I spoke to Lena
the other day who told me that she had just been visiting your school
in Los Angeles.
After
flying back to Europe in July of last year, I spent a month at Gorton
and Painter FX (Saving Private Ryan, Gladiator, Alice in Wonderland).
I worked for them constructing and painting silicone bodies for
a BBC Sherlock Holmes movie. I then moved on to paint a few things
for the then ongoing project, "The Tenth Kingdom". I flew
back to Sweden where I spent 3 weeks before I got a call about this
upcoming war movie that the company was doing. I flew back to London
and spent 2 months in the workshop before we headed down to Beirut
for shooting. I was down there until Christmas of last year and
I got a lot of experience since I got to work with some brilliant
artists.
I
am now back at the same shop, working on Johnny Depp's new movie,
"From Hell". It is the Jack the Ripper story and we are
fabricating the 5 female victims as well as a full body prosthetic
of the elephant man. I will go down to Prague in June for shooting
and I will get to do a lot of application work. We are also making
up Johnny Depp to look 70 years old, which is going to be great.
I
have ordered a lot of make-up from Matthew Mungle that will work
great on this new material we are using. I am also using your make-up
bases for coloring the silicone and that works beautiful since the
colors are so great.
I
use the techniques you taught me every day and I can really tell
how much it benefits me by comparing with other artists who have
not taken your course. Thank you for all the knowledge that I obtained
as a student. I hope everything else is great at the school and
please say hello to everyone for me.
Thank
you for your time and I hope to hear from you.
Sincerely,
Henrik
