VA Student Policies
Notice To Veterans:
Veterans wishing to obtain information regarding their eligibility requirements and pay rate for educational benefits should contact the Department of Veterans Affairs at 1-888-442-4551.
Credit For Prior Training For VA Students
Previous education and training will be evaluated and granted if appropriate with the training time shortened and the tuition reduced proportionately with the VA and the veteran student so notified.
VA Students Attendance Policy
Excused absences will be granted for extenuating circumstances only. Excused absences will be substantiated by entries in students’ files. Early departures, class cuts, tardiness, etc., for any portion of an hour will be counted as a full hour of absence. Students exceeding three (3) un-excused absences in a calendar month WILL BE TERMINATED for unsatisfactory attendance.
VA Students Standards Of Progress For The Professional Make-up Artistry Program
A VA student who has not attained and maintained satisfactory progress (70% or better) at the end of any two-week equal evaluation period will be put on probation for the next two weeks. If the student does not attain satisfactory progress (70% or better) at the end of the probation period, the VA will be notified of unsatisfactory progress so the VA can terminate benefits. A VA student whose benefits have been terminated due to unsatisfactory progress may petition the school to be re-credited after one two-week evaluation period has elapsed. The school may re-certify the student only if the student has attained satisfactory progress and there is a reasonable likelihood that the student will be able to maintain satisfactory progress for the remainder of the program.
VA Students Standards Of Progress For The Beauty Make-up Artistry and Advanced Prosthetics Program
A VA student who does not have satisfactory progress at the end of any weekly evaluation period will be terminated from the program with the VA so notified.
Veterans’ Refund Policy
The refund of the unused portion of tuition, fees, and other charges for veterans or eligible persons who fail to enter a program, withdraw, or discontinue prior to completion will be made for all amounts paid which exceed the approximate pro rata portion of the total charges that the length of the completed portion of the program bears to total length of the program. The probation will be determined on the ratio of the number of days or hours of instruction completed by the student to the total number of instructional days or hours in the program.
