VA Policies

1. Notice to Veterans

Veterans wishing to obtain information regarding their eligibility requirements and pay rate for educational benefits should contact the Department of Veteran’s Affairs at 1-800-442-4551.

2. Credit for Prior Training for VA Attendees

Previous education and training will be evaluated and granted, when appropriate, with the training time shortened and the tuition reduced proportionately. The VA and the veteran attendee will be so notified.

3. VA  Attenance Policy

Excused absences will be granted for extenuating circumstances, only. Excused absences will be evidenced by entries in the attendee’s file. Early departure, class cuts, or tardiness for any portion of an hour will be counted as a full hour of absence. Attendees exceeding three (3) unexcused absences in a calendar month will be terminated for unsatisfactory attendance.

4. VA Standard of Progress – H.D Professional Journeyman Make-up Artistry Materials Procedures Training (journeyman pro-case kit)

A VA attendee who has not attained and maintained satisfactory progress (75% or better) at the end of any two-week equal evaluation period will be put on probation for the next two weeks. If the attendee does not attain satisfactory progress at the end of the probation period, the VA will be notified of unsatisfactory progress so the VA can terminate benefits. A VA attendee whose benefits have been terminated due to unsatisfactory progress may petition the Center to be re-certified after one two-week evaluation period has elapsed. The Center may re-certify the attendee only if the attendee has attained satisfactory progress and there is a reasonable likelihood that the attendee will be able to maintain satisfactory progress for the remainder of the program.

5. VA Standard of Progress –   H.D Professional Commercial Beauty Make-up Artistry Materials Procedures Training (commercial pro-case kit) and H.D Professional Lab- Persons Prosthetics Laboratory Materials Procedures Training

A VA attendee who does not have satisfactory progress at the end of any weekly evaluation period will be terminated and the VA so notified.

6. Veterans’ Refund Policy

The refund of the unused portion of tuition, fees, and other charges for veterans or fail to enter a program, withdraw of discontinue prior to completion of the program will be made for all amounts which exceed the approximate pro rated portion of the total charges that the length of the completed portion of the program bears to the total program length. The prorating will be determined by the ratio of the number of days or hours of the program completed by the veteran attendee to the total number of hours or days in the program.
